Our athletes best friends bring us real close to them at the Olympics

The Olympic Games

Being the biggest transporter in Holland, as well as a partner of the Dutch Olympic Committee (NOC/NSF), NS wanted to bring their customers as close as they could to the biggest sports event in the world: The Olympic Games in Beijing (2008).

EVERYTHING STARTS WITH A PLAN

The newsroom

Storylane was video partner and produced approximately 60 different items from Beijing (with a base camp in the Holland’s Heineken House). These items were conceived, recorded, edited and broadcasted in a timespan of 24 hours. Items were re-edited by the team to television commercials and transported by satellite to Dutch Broadcasters.

Authentic reports

Obviously a train couldn’t bring all their customers all the way to the games, so a new concept was created to get closer to them than even a train could take them. We followed our national sports heroes through the eyes of their friends and family members. Station Beijing became an original news channel and the relatives of famous athletes turned into intimate reporters.
